Summer Exits – 3 Players Who Might Leave Tottenham After The Current Season

Tottenham Hotspur are on fire at the moment and can’t seem to do much wrong. Mauricio Pochettino has built a wonderful team that is not afraid to go out and express themselves and almost every player is doing their bit in ensuring that the club have one of their best seasons to date in the Premier League.

Pochettino was extremely shrewd in the last summer transfer window as he got rid of a lot of players. While people were worried as to what kind of impact it might have at the club, the move has worked a treat for the team as they currently sit second in the table.

Another culling could take place in the summer transfer window in 2016 as Pochettino looks to make a few changes to a side that heavily relies on the youth system at the club. While they already have a trimmed out squad, we look at three players who could be on their way out of the side in the summer.

Mousa Dembele

Mousa Dembele

He might be one of the more talented members of the squad but Mousa Dembele hasn’t played as many games as he would have liked for Tottenham this season. The rise of Dele Alli and the performances of players such as Eric Dier and Ryan Mason have greatly reduced his playing time.

Dembele though could move to another club for more games and no one would grudge him for that. He still is extremely talented and young enough to make a difference for other top sides, it is just a little depressing that Tottenham can’t use him better this season.

Michel Vorm

The shock transfer that saw Vorm come aboard from Swansea is still extremely confusing to many since Vorm would always be Hugo Lloris’ understudy. The Dutch goalkeeper was one of the best players in the league when he performed admirably for Swansea a couple of seasons ago and he could be the one to make a move in the summer.

Vorm is 32-years-old and surely on his way out of the club either for more regular football or that one last lucrative contract and maybe a move to the rich Chinese Super League could be the way he goes.

DeAndre Yedlin

DeAndre Yedlin

Touted as one of the rising stars from the American side, DeAndre Yedlin wowed us all with his performance in the 2014 FIFA World Cup but he hasn’t been able to show his talent either at Tottenham or at Sunderland.

The American is out on loan with the Black Cats but hasn’t been able to cut it as easily as many would have expected. Yedlin could be another one who sees his time at White Hart Lane come to an end really soon and that could happen in the summer.

  1. No wonder you write this piece under a pseudonym. Dembele is great but his playing time has been restricted due to injuries. The club, the manager and the fans appreciate him. He is going nowhere.

  2. Are you for real? Why would Tottenham’s best midfielder leave? He is arguably our most important player and plays every game when fit. Your writing about football would be like me writing about nuclear physics. Please make that your last ‘article’.

  3. Mason has been injured for most of the season and hasn’t kept anyone out of the first team. Check your facts,”Staff Writer”. No wonder you don’t provide your real name.

  4. There are a lot of amateurish gibberish journalists on here who take us (fans) for mugs.Dembele signs a new contract, reiterates over and over that he never once wanted to live, above all with Poch rubber stamping his extension and then this. What a load of BS.

  5. Dembele just signed a new 3 year deal a week ago. He has been instrumental this season. 4 goals. I can’t remember him losing the ball when he dribbles. Pochettino finally values him and he has shown his quality, which he only did for most of his first season until Sandro got injured. They were a great pairing. This year he doesn’t hold onto the ball quite as long. He passes more positively and gets further forward. Yedlin is obvious. Nobody really cares about Vorm. He’s steady. Not a patch on Lloris, but deserves more football.
