Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has finally completed the signing of the 22-year-old Dutch striker Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar. Janssen, who was too desperate to sign for the Lilly Whites penned a four-year contract with the club and will now be lining up with Harry Kane in the attack.

The London club did try to sign the player earlier, but the Dutch side AZ rejected their first offer claiming that the player is worth much more than that. Janssen his surely a great signing for the club and his addition would surely provide Harry Kane a much-needed rest and competition in the next season. Kane played every single game for the Lilly-Whites last season, but now with the Champions League games to play for, a need for a striker was a necessity and Pochettino didn’t take long to fulfil the need.

Janssen became Pochettino’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of the Kenyan international Victor Wanayama from Southampton. The 25-year-old too was looking to leave the Saints last season, but the south coast club somehow convinced the player to stay, but they failed to do the same this time round.

With two world class singings already concluded, Pochettino will be looking to add more steel and many believe that the team needs a defender, who could work well alongside the Belgian duo at the back. The addition of Wanyama has given the backline a solid support from the midfield, but we honestly feel that an attacking personnel is still needed in the squad. Here, we give you three names, who could follow Janssen to the White Hart Lane-

  1. Mohamed Salah-

The 24-year-old Egyptian international is currently serving the Italian side AS Roma and has been a regular starter for the team as well. His addition might hinder the game time of one of the current first team player, but Salah is worth taking a risk. Salah had a little experience of playing in the Premier League during his horrifying time at the Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

The Egyptian is known for his flashy pace that could easily haunt the aging defenders of the Premier League and besides that, he is known for his excellent ball control and thanks to his versatility, he could play a number of roles on the field, notably, as a winger, as an attacking midfielder, even as a fullback and as a false number 9.

  1. Martin Caceres-

The 29-year-old centre back cum full back is one of those rare breed of footballers, who could defend the game from every position. The Uruguayan international had spent his time with the Spanish giants Barcelona, Sevilla and also with the Italian Champions, Juventus. The defender has been released by the Old Lady recently, and therefore, he could easily be tempted to make a move to the White Hart Lane.

Caceres, who started his footballing career with the Uruguayan side Defensor, has won 5 Serie A titles with Juventus and 1 La Liga as well as 1 Champions League title with Barcelona. The 29-year-old has a great experience of playing at the top level and his addition in the squad could mean a lot. Caceres is known for his perfectly timed challenges and also for his muscular built and therefore, he could easily adopt the playing style of the Premier League.

  1. Ezequiel Garay-

The 29-year-old centre-back is one of the most promising defenders in the sport. The 6ft 2in defender has been regularly touted as a target for the fellow English side Manchester United and Arsenal, but nothing has been materialized yet. Garay is one of the most experienced players in the industry, yet he could be available at a very low cost.

He is currently playing with the Russian side Zenit and recently completed his second season with the club. As Vertonghen could miss the start of the upcoming Premier League season due to his knee injury, it is understood that Pochettino will be searching the markets to sign a perfect replacement, hence Garay could easily fit the bill.

  1. Salah perhaps but the other two are most unlikely. The Soldado experience coupled with the Adebayor fiasco will rightly have made Spurs cautious about buying over-priced, over-rated, over paid over the hill players.
