While the Tottenham squad is preparing themselves for the clash against the Champions League finalist Atletico Madrid, their Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino is working to strengthen his squad. Well, it is no secret that the team needs a reinforcement in order to battle the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The side tasted a great success last season, but only because of some poor display in the last couple of games, they failed to achieve a second place finish and eventually finished below arch rivals Arsenal. Well, a big question lies here about Tottenham’s upcoming season is whether they can replicate the same form going into the new season.
The arrival of top managers in the league have set the bar up high, hence the entire team needs to work more and train harder than ever. The entire squad had a great chemistry last season, but we have seen how the form can decline and Chelsea are the best example of it. Tottenham are surely in a great shape, yet a couple of new arrivals will mean serious business by the Londoners.
Now, if the recent reports are believed, then the Lilly-Whites are closing in to sign Marseille winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou. It is expected that the 21-year-old attacker has completed his medical for the club, but the French club are waiting for Clinton Njie to move the other way in a separate deal before releasing the France Under-21 international.
Now, Tottenham’s manager was asked whether he will make any more signings, and he replied:
“I expect some signings in the next few weeks,” Pochettino said in Melbourne ahead of Friday’s friendly against Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup.
“We’ll see what happens. We expect some activity, yes.”

The 19-year-old Croatian midfielder is currently wanted by many top European clubs, and most Notably, Liverpool. Ante Coric, an attacking midfielder, is known for his maturity in the game and there is no secret that the Lilly-Whites do need an attacking midfielder for rotation/back up, hence, Coric solely fits the bill for the side.
Coric is a dangerous personnel when on the ball and even when working off the ball, he makes some deadly runs in the final third, which opens the opposition’s defence apart. Given the record of Mauricio Pochettino towards the youths, Coric could become a deadly signing for the side and that too for a long term.

There were reports that Mauricio Pochettino was interested in signing the 22-year-old Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter, well, this move could surely benefit the side. The 22-year-old former Freiburg man has a great experience of European football, hence, his move is justified. A 6’2″ defender, who can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder comes with a lot of qualities.
The defender is known for his ball playing techniques and sometimes, when played as a midfielder, loves to control the tempo of the game. The defender is a well-disciplined personnel, who times his tackles well and in a competition like the Premier League, this could work well for the manager.
