Tottenham are stuck somewhere in between the speculation of Marseille’s 21-year-old attacker Kevin N’Koudou and Tottenham’s 22-year-old, Clinton Njie. Well, it is obvious that the side needs to bring some attacking faces as to challenge in the Champions League and who knows, N’Koudou might be the one they need.

On the other hand, many believe that besides an attacker, they need a central defender, and most specifically, a right-footed central defender, but their manager thinks otherwise. When asked about the possibilities of new arrivals, the manager stated that he wants to make some signings, while he made it very clear that it won’t be a defender. Soon after the game against Atletico Madrid, the manager said:

“Today we can see that in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Anton Walkes, and the other day with Dominic Ball, we have young and talented players and trust in them.
“I don’t think we need to go into the market to sign another centre-back.”

Well, we all are aware of the fact that Pochettino loves to play with the young guns, but can he really take the risk with them in the Champions League?

Furthermore, he expressed that their 21-year-old defender Dominic Ball is a great prospect, hence, we might see him playing an impressive role in the upcoming season.

Who is Domino Ball?

The 21-year-old Hertfordshire born defender joined Tottenham’s youth set up in 2011 from Watford. In his very first season with the academy, he played 17 games for the side and managed to net one goal. In the very next season, the young lad started training with the team’s U18 squad and was also one of only four players to start all eight NextGen Series matches. After his impressive display, he was promoted to the U21 side and wrapped up 16 appearances for the side and formed a rigid partnership with the fellow teammate Milos Veljkovic as a centre back.

Everyone knew that Ball has something very great to offer, hence, he was sent out on loan to the League Two side, Cambridge United during the second half of the 2014-15 season. After an impressive campaign, he was then loaned out to the Scottish side Rangers for a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old recently returned to the Lilly-Whites and got his chance against Juventus, but a howler from the defender cost his side to concede an early goal.

Style Of Play:

What the 21-year-old is known for is his versatility which allows him to operate the game from the central area of the defence as well as from the right side, but besides that, Ball was also used as a holding midfielder during his time with the Rangers. With Federico Fazio being loaned out to Roma, this could be the time Ball could play his magic to assert his spot in the team.

Although he would only be preferred after Vertonghen, Wimmer and Alderweireld, but with cup games and Champions League football to play for, he might feature in at least some of the Premier League games. Ball is a hard working individual, who loves to engage himself in the physical battle, hence, he could be a perfect fit for the manager. Well, there are reports that Leeds United are currently targeting the situation of Dominic, hence, we feel that this move could really help him in the future endeavors. He wants to learn and wants to improve, and for that, he needs regular football, which Tottenham right at this very moment cannot offer.

The 21-year-old could easily feature regularly for Leeds and if not in the defence, they could really utilize him in the midfield. As stated earlier, he wants to learn and at 21 years of age, a loan spell could really help his cause and through that, he could explore other playing options as well.
