It is quite fair to say that Tottenham Manager – Mauricio Pochettino – might look up to sign a player or two in the upcoming transfer window, which would certainly be a proper move for the Argentine as he is looking build his squad for upcoming challenges of the league. The players he brought this summer have failed to live up to the billing – except for Wanyama – as the young Frenchman Kevin N’Koudou has been a complete anonymous figure, while Vincent Janssen has totally drained his reputation and Moussa Sissoko has had his ups and downs.

The squad has been exposed many times this season and a recent victory over the Clarets is a perfect instance of it. Besides the inconsistency, the Lilly-Whites have been quite vulnerable to injuries as well, something they were completely deprived of last season, as the absence of both Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld has uncovered the short-comings of the Londoners.

With all those things in mind, Pochettino might search for the perfect covers in January, and here, we give you the names of those three players, who should be on Tottenham’s wish list next month:

Virgil van Dijk-

At 25 years of age, the former Celtic man is in the form of his life. He might not be the easiest of options to choose from as the teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are also in the hunt, but the environment he will be getting at Tottenham will be unmatchable.

Should he come to the Lane, the manager can shift his tactic to a three men defence and van Dijk alongside Alderweireld and Vertonghen would do a perfect justice to the tactic. Imagine a defence comprised of the towering defenders like these three; haunting isn’t it?

Tottenham are already known for their mean defence in the Premier League and the addition of the Dutch would be one of the best things for the spectators. If a three men defence is deployed, both Walker and Rose will get a much-deserved freedom to expose the oppositions in their respective flanks which will automatically serve the side in the attacking third.

All in all, the towering Dutchman would be a perfect fit for the club and should any injury scare happens again, they will have a perfect cover to overcome it.

Davy Klaassen-

15 appearances, 8 goals and 4 assists. The stats says it all for the attacking midfielder of Ajax.

Well, the Dutch imports have always been a gamble in the Premier League as Tottenham and Manchester United have been the biggest victim of this in recent times, but given the experience of Klaassen in the Champions League and Europa League; it is quite certain that he would be a great fit for the Lilly-Whites.

He surely will have to fight for the first place, but given how Dele Alli has been performing this season (inconsistently), Klaassen would be a perfect deputy. The 23-year-old isn’t just a one-season wonder, as his 13 goals and 8 assists in the previous Eredivisie solely supports his case. Klaassen, who is dubbed as the new Bergkamp, has all the qualities that make him a world-class, yet an unsung player.

He is known for his pin-point deliveries and also for his off the balls runs, which allows him to create a lot of goal-scoring chances (29 this season). He is meant to reach the summit and joining the White Hart Lane outfit would be a perfect ladder for the youngster.

Alexandre Lacazette-

The young French international needs no introduction as he was the most talked personnel in the Premier League past summer. The 25-year-old was subject of some serious bidding war from the clubs like Arsenal and West Ham United, but the Lyon attacker decided to stay put.

His quality on the field is unquestionable as his 12 goals from 14 appearances this season solely supports his cause. The striker himself has expressed a desire to move to England and this would be a perfect opportunity for the Lilly-Whites to make a move. It is quite certain that Arsenal will be making a move for him again in the near future and in that case, Tottenham could well be the one snatch him from the Gunner’s nose.

Known for his natural eye for goal, Lacazette will be a perfect signing for the Lilly-Whites, certainly better than Janssen. Even though he might not come cheap, his qualities and results will undoubtedly cover the amount for the side in no time. All in all; a perfect crime partner for Kane.
