Tottenham Superstar Harry Kane is set to visit a specialist in order to get his ankle injury sorted out as the club begins to look at possibilities to quicken up the striker’s recovery from his latest injury and make sure he is available to play again this season.

Kane suffered an ankle injury in Tottenham’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Millwall when their defender Jake Cooper attempted a tackle on him. The striker had his ankle rolled over and suffered in pain, before being taken off in the 10th minute of the game.

Pochettino then admitted that Kane had injured the same ankle that he injured against Sunderland earlier, that kept him out for 7 weeks.

Pochettino was quoted by The Guardian: “It’s the same ankle as before in the Sunderland game. Now it’s a matter of waiting. We will assess it tomorrow and, after tomorrow, we will see what happens. It’s difficult. It looks a similar situation to Sunderland.

It was a similar action. It’s sure it will be difficult for him to play against Southampton on Sunday but we need to wait now and see what happens.

He continued: “Harry was in the boot afterwards because, in a situation like this, the doctor is cautious. Before a scan, the doctor tries to immobilise the joint, with a boot and crutches – to try to avoid any [further] problems.

Harry is our main striker, one of the best in England, but we can’t cry about it now. We have enough players to try and replace him. It won’t be an excuse if we don’t win or achieve our aims because Harry is not in the team.”

Kane was at Tottenham’s Enfield headquarters for treatment on Monday and he will undergo a range of scans to determine the extent of the right ankle sprain. The club are hoping to have a definitive prognosis soon, provided that the swelling subsides enough. He is also booked in to see a specialist, who will determine the player’s next course of action.

The latest reports from Sky Sports confirm that the player has indeed sustained a ligament damage to his right ankle.

Harry Kane is highly important for Tottenham as they hope to clinch the FA Cup and finish as high as possible in the league. He is the joint-leading goal scorer in the league with 19 goals and has been on fire this season.

Pochettino would be keeping his fingers crossed as Kane begins his recovery. It’ll be really interesting to hear more about Kane’s scan reports and recovery process.
