Tottenham are interested in signing Sassuolo starlet Domenico Berardi amidst heavy competition from Chelsea and Juventus. According to TransferMarketWeb, Spurs representatives have watched the talented winger in action ahead of a possible summer swoop.
The 22-year old attacker is reportedly on the wish list of European giants Juventus and Chelsea but now could possibly be signed by Tottenham Hotspur.
Berardi is considered one of the brightest prospects in Italian football and has been growing in stature over the years, ever since he made his debut for Sassuolo in 2012 as an 18-year old.
He has scored a total of 58 goals in 156 appearances for Sassuolo and is consistently making progress as a player. He has hit double figures in 3 of his 5 seasons as a senior player and has so far scored 7 goals this season from 17 appearances, just one short of his last season’s tally of 8 goals from 32 appearances.
He is bound to get better and it would be a great buy for any of the 3 teams mentioned above, especially for Tottenham.
His goal tally is highly impressive considering the fact that he is a winger. He predominantly plays on the right and is capable of switching to the opposite wing as well when necessary. Spurs have been lacking an explosive winger for a long time now and summer signing Moussa Sissoko has failed them spectacularly.
Berardi has scored 7 goals and 5 assists for Sassuolo this season and has been on the pitch for 1332 minutes overall. He would be a brilliant signing for Tottenham as the player’s skillset suits Pochettino’s playing style perfectly.
Domenico is good from set-pieces and can take defences by surprise with his ability on the dead-ball. He loves to keep the ball and draws a lot of fouls. His deliveries into the box are quite dangerous and Spurs would greatly benefit from this.
