Tottenham’s season is going from strength to strength and even though they might not win the Premier League, there have been a number of positives that can be taken from the campaign.

Sure the London side failed in the Champions League but the form of some of their stars certainly has been admirable and does provide a great base for next season.

One player who has turned many heads is Dele Alli, who has bagged 19 goals this season. The 21-year-old recently celebrated his birthday but his performance against Watford was brilliant, just like his performances before the Watford game.

The former MK Dons man has been likened to a Chelsea legend Frank Lampard but Mauricio Pochettino has compared the Englishman to one of the best players in the world and that player stars for Barcelona.

While speaking to beIN Sports, the former Southampton manager stated that Alli still has a lot of potential to improve and get better than Neymar.

“I think Dele Alli has a personality completely different maybe to Neymar. I think he’s a special player too. I don’t know if he’s in this level yet but the potential will be like him or better.”

He added: “I think Dele is an unbelievable player, great player, still very young and his potential is massive and we’ll see what happens. He has the potential to improve a lot.”

It isn’t a surprise that Pochettino is gushing about his young star. The 21-year-old’s performances this season certainly have been jaw dropping and there have been a number of teams believed to be interested in signing Alli up.

Manchester United are believed to be interested in the Englishman with Real Madrid chasing the attacker as well with £50million in the kitty. But if Alli continues playing in this form; Tottenham could just blow the opposition away and ask for a ludicrous amount.

Alli shouldn’t let the praise get to his head but for now, he is doing a fantastic job and should only get better with time.
