Jean Michael Seri

Tottenham and Arsenal are rivals and there’s no doubt about it. The rivalry is now at its peak with Tottenham challenging Arsenal on all fronts, be it on the pitch or off it. The Northumberland Development Project is well on course and Spurs will have an all new modern beauty in their hands very soon.

Tottenham beat Arsenal hands down when the sides faced each other at White Hart Lane last weekend and it looks like Spurs have finally taken control of Arsenal. Now it looks like they are looking to compete with Arsenal even in the transfer market, as Tottenham have been linked with OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michaël Seri.

Both the North London clubs are reportedly chasing the midfielder, who is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. According to The Guardian, both the Premier League giants have held discussions regarding a move for the highly-rated midfielder.

Seri joined Nice in the summer of 2015 and has made 36 appearances this season in all competitions. It has been a highly successful campaign for OGC Nice who are currently 3rd in the Ligue 1 standings. Seri has scored 6 goals and has 9 assists to his name and has featured for around 3000 minutes this campaign. He is integral to the Nice lineup and has been an important cog in their wheels.

Tottenham currently have Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele and Harry Winks as central midfielders. The versatile Eric Dier has shone in midfield but it looks like Pochettino looks at him as a defender and not as a midfielder. This might probably be the reason why Spurs are interested in signing Seri.

The report claims that the Ivorian has a release clause of £33million, but the French club want only £20million for the player. This would be a really good bargain as the 25-year old has his contract running until 2019.

Buying a central midfielder would be a smart move as Tottenham will be needing some good depth in their squad if they are to compete on all 4 fronts next season.

Another one over Arsenal? We’ll have to wait and watch.
