Tottenham’s Key Target To Have Career Defining Discussion About Future With Relegated Club

One of the most impressive performers for the relegated Hull City team could be on his way out of the club in the summer. Unsurprisingly, Harry Maguire has stated that he would be speaking with the club over his future, especially after the relegation.

“There were talks a couple of months ago and we came to an agreement, obviously with the position that the club is in, that we needed to totally focus on my football. I thought it wasn’t the right time to speak,” the central defender told the Yorkshire Post a while back.

“I still have a year left on my contract and am contracted to Hull City. But I am sure we will speak in the summer over another contract.”

This comes as great news for us, as the Sunday Mirror claims that we want to sign the defender up. While there will be the odd moan about Maguire not being good enough to play for us, he can provide great cover for the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

The 24-year-old could give us the flexibility of playing with three at the back and punishing Eric Dier in the midfield too. The Mirror also claims that Maguire wants to play European football with us, though Everton are also tracking his situation as they look to add him to their team.

Even though Hull have been relegated, they still want a premium for their player. £22 million is the asking price for the Englishman but in all honesty, Maguire would be sold for far lower, especially if he voices out that he wants to move away from the club in the summer.

Maguire did play 29 games for the relegated side and even came up with a couple of goals and assists as the Tigers tried staying in the Premier League. The Englishman is young and could develop into a good player under Pochettino but the signing would only be a decent one should we pay lower than the ridiculous £22 million being quoted for his services.

  1. You forgot to mention that England have been at Hull City’s matches recently to take a good look at Maguire and that he is also wanted by Silva who was at Hull but is now manager of Watford. He was our stand out player of the season and we will be sad to see him go but at the right price. we think £22M is cheap as he will go on to play for England and for a top club in the Prem. I do hope he goes to Spurs and my pal is an avid fan and has seen him play several times this season. he wants him signed up cos in his view he has great ability on the ball and is a hell of a physical presence. He has been mentioned often by the pundits on match of the day in glowing terms too!!!

  2. I believe that Harry is a future England international and would be a good signing for whoever signs him, hopefully Spurs and not Everton. He is strong, brave, good on the floor and also in the air. He is very good at bringing the ball out of defence and is as good a passer as Huddleston. If you can find the clip of our third goal against M,boro you will see what I mean. In that game Ben Gibson played for them and Harry was head and shoulders above him, only one game I know but it is a guide. I will be sorry to see him go but he deserves his chance at a top club and not having to hold our defence together we saw in the last game what happens when we didnt have him.
