West Ham United vice-chairperson Karren Brady surprised everyone by claiming that she would be supporting rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League title race this season.

According to latest reports, Brady made these shocking revelations about supporting her club’s London rivals. That too, she said that before seeing her side lose 3-2 in the weekend to their fierce rivals at the London Stadium.

Spurs achieved the win, thanks to a clinical brace from top striker Harry Kane and ahead of the match, Brady admitted that she was jealous of Spurs.

Brady said (FutNSoccer):

“I admit I am jealous of the current Spurs side.

“Not only for their consistently watchable style of play but for unearthing several of the country’s most accomplished young players”

Tottenham have always been one of the big clubs in London and in the recent years, have raised the tempo on the pitch. Ever since Mauricio Pochettino took charge as the manager, Spurs have moved closer to achieving their full potential.

They are the most consistent English side in the past couple of seasons, only narrowly missing out on winning the Premier League title. In the 2015-16 season, it was a close fight with Leicester City almost until the end before losing out to the Foxes; last season saw Spurs go toe-to-toe with eventual Champions Chelsea before losing out.

The North London outfit could have made a better start to the season but have picked up momentum in the past couple of weeks only. They are still very much in the title race and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they climb up the ladder and be a realistic competitor.

Brady knows very well that her Hammers side is a long way away from challenging for the Premier League title. She is impressed by the way her London rivals are playing and believes that Tottenham can win it ahead of the big-spending clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City.

More importantly, Brady’s claim about unearthing youngsters is a fact that all Spurs fans should be proud of. Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Harry Winks and many more youngsters owe their progress to Tottenham.

With almost all these players impressing for England, we can safely say that Tottenham has become a laboratory of successful English youngsters. Welcome Brady to the long list of Tottenham supporters!
