Suso

Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing AC Milan striker Suso, a player they were interested all through the summer. According to news from Italian media Calciomercato, the Tottenham scouts are tracking the 23-year-old with a view of submitting a bid.

The North London club chased the left-footed sensation in the summer and it was reported that they had a £20.5m bid rejected for the winger. Italian giants AC Milan view him as an integral part of their team and were reluctant to let him go.

Interestingly, the report indicates that the player has a release clause of between £35m and £45m. It also states that the San Siro club could be forced to sell the player next year if they fail to qualify for Champions League.

That looks like a real possibility considering their poor start to the Serie A season. Even after spending a lot on their squad, Milan are currently 11th in the League table and it would require a huge change in their fortunes for them to move into Champions League qualification places.

Suso is not new to English Premier League, having been involved with Liverpool earlier. However, he struggled to make an impact at Anfield and was soon shipped away to Milan.

But, he has developed immensely since his move away from the Premier League, as the attacker has proven that he can be an asset to any team, thanks to his versatility.

Can Suso make a real impact at Tottenham if he makes a return to the Premier League? He is a different player compared to what he was at Anfield and will help Mauricio Pochettino address the lack of width in the team.

Will Milan be forced to sell their playmaker? Suso already has 4 goals and 4 assists in 14 games for the Serie A side this season and it would be a miracle if they sell him in January. However, lack of Champions League football next season could force them into a sale – a point at which Spurs could pounce for his signature.
