Deal Close: €25m Tottenham Target Believed To Have Agreed Personal Terms With Valencia

This is moving really fast. It was only earlier this week that we heard reports that Tottenham are interested in signing midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. The Inter Milan midfielder is currently on loan with Valencia and is making waves in Spain.

After an entire week of reports linking the Frenchman with a move to White Hart Lane, latest reports from Spain indicate that it is Valencia who could be in the driving seat for his signature.

Interesting isn’t it! I doubt if all this is fabricated considering the pace at which the news is being minted but the Spanish media think otherwise. Reports coming from Spain suggest that the La Liga have won the race for his signature and that a permanent move for the midfielder may have already been agreed.

This comes from the Spanish outlet Plaza Deportiva, and the reports indicate that the Spanish side have come to an agreement with Inter to buy the 24-year-old for €25million at the end of his current loan spell.

The report also speaks about the player agreeing to personal terms with the La Liga club, with a four-year deal having been agreed. The catch here is that all of this is conjecture and unless anything concrete comes from Inter Milan, Valencia, or the player’s camp, I am not going to believe any of it.

The Spanish media is notorious for drumming up support to the moves by their own clubs and we have seen in the past that this has resulted in many rumours just being planted with an idea of scaring the Premier League clubs off the trail.

It is being reported that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is looking for a long-term replacement for his central midfielder Mousa Dembele whose injury record is quite bad. It was also reported that Pochettino was looking at Kondogbia as the replacement.

There is a sense of calm at both the clubs, which is eerily surprising. Valencia seem to be privately confident that they have the first right to sign the player while Spurs seem to be confident that they can win the player over.

Where will Kondogbia end up playing his next season at? Only time will reveal!
