Tottenham were part of an electric Champions League draw which featured a number of heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. We were one of the best performing teams in the group stages as we topped our group which also featured Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Even though we won our group, it did not provide us with a guarantee of an easy team to face in the round of 16, given that clubs such as Bayern Munich and Juventus had finished second in their respective groups.
We have got one of the toughest draws for the knockouts as we are set to face Juventus in two legs on 13th February and 7th March, with the second leg to be played at Wembley.
The matches would be two of the toughest we would face this season but given our performances in Europe, we should fear no one. Our fans were certainly looking forward to the tie and shared their reactions to the draw, on Twitter.
The Champions League won't be the first meeting between @SpursOfficial and @JuventusFC this season!

Juve/Spurs is a fascinating tie. Juve have regressed from last season & Spurs one of most impressive teams in Group stage. Should be another close tie. Won't be many goals over the 2 legs.

#thfc It’s Spurs’ first ever competitive meeting with Juventus but the Old Lady have lost the last 5 knockout ties against English clubs 👀

#thfc Juventus draw feels similar to the AC Milan tie at the same stage in 2010-11. Plenty of glamour and pedigree but reasons to think Spurs can win it.

Remember what happened the last time we played against an Italian team in the Champions League. 😉
