Tottenham maintained their good run of form with a 2-0 win against Brighton at the Wembley Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday evening. Serge Aurier put Spurs in the lead in the 40th minute with a miscued effort, and Son Heung-Min doubled the advantage in the 87th minute.

In the comfortable win over Brighton, Son was the stand-out performer for Spurs. The South Korean has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported transfer fee of £22million.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was also impressed with the 25-year-old, who has scored 5 goals in 10 Premier League starts and 3 goals in 4 Champions League starts so far this season.

When asked about Son’s display, Poch said (quoted by Football.London):

“Yes, very good. I thought Sonny deserves the praise and that is a good thing to talk about.

“He deserves a lot of praise and always a smile. Always he’s happy. When he’s not playing, he’s not happy.”

The South Korea international improved beyond anyone’s expectations last season. He scored 14 Premier League goals, 10 better than his 2015-16 output. But it isn’t just his amount of goals that has made him a fan favourite in North London.

He’s a dream for any manager. Son is also a lot more skilful than one expects and is a proper poacher, with a desire to always run behind the defenders. His work-rate is alarming and is capable of magical moments.

Many of our supporters praised Son’s performance after the attacker was adjudged the Man of the Match by the club’s official Twitter account.
