Tottenham have had a number of exciting youth prospects coming through the academy in the last few years and to help their development, we are set to loan out another one of our starlets. A tweet from the Lilywhite Rose Twitter account claims that Samuel Shashoua is set to be loaned out to a Major League Soccer team.

The player could be moving out in January as he does need regular playing time against better opposition, day in and day out.

The 18-year-old is yet to make an appearance for our senior side but his performances in Premier League 2 have been impressive, with the Englishman scoring twice in 10 games.

Shashoua plays mostly as a winger and can be deployed on either side of the attack. He has also been a part of the U17 England side and has represented the U18 side in three games, as well.

This would not be the first player we would be sending out on loan to America, as defender Anton Walkes was also sent to Atlanta United for a season-long loan.

While Shashoua has impressed in his few Premier League 2 outings, he has to play regularly for a senior side and take on players who are bigger than him. That will help in the refinement of his game and also help us understand if he is ready to make the step to the next level.

It will be interesting to see just how this deal might work out for the 18-year-old as he would want to do well and hopefully, make a return to the team in a year or so and fight for a place in the Tottenham senior team.

We have seen a number of players burn out by the time they reach their 20s and let’s hope it isn’t the case with Shashoua. The youngster has some of the traits that will lead him to success and if he can just keep doing well wherever he goes, the Englishman might just break into the first-team next season.
