Dele Alli

Now, this should come as a sweetener for all of us amidst all those pointless talks of Harry Kane moving to Real Madrid. The club has reportedly opened negotiations with Dele Alli over a potential new deal.

According to the Mirror, Tottenham are looking to make Dele Alli one of the highest earners at the club. Alli is likely to be offered £100,000-a-week, which is almost double of what he’s currently earning with the club.

Formal talks are yet to begin but Spurs are believed to be intent on getting the deal done. Alli is one of the hottest prospects in football right now and it is a great move by the club to tie him down to a new contract. Alli currently earns £60,000-a-week and has attracted the interest of some big clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Tottenham are confident of completing the deal.

The 21-year old Englishman has gone from strength to strength since signing his previous contract with the club 18 months ago. He has earned rave reviews for his performances and has taken everyone by storm. This season has seen a dip in form but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s an important player at the club.

On the other hand, Tottenham are also looking to offer fresh terms to Harry Kane, who only signed a new contract around a year back. Kane has grown to become one of the best in the world and is banging goals for fun. He ended 2017 as the highest scorer, finishing above the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Harry certainly deserves a pay rise as he’s truly committed to the club. While players of his calibre are earning way more than our talisman, he has remained loyal and has always tried to put speculations to bed by highlighting his commitment to the club.

With the stadium move set to happen at the start of the 2018/19 season, it is important that we have our players on long and hefty contracts. On top of that, winning major trophies will be important for the club to move on to the next level.

So far, things are moving in the right direction and let’s hope Dele Alli agrees to sign the new contract to stay at the club for a long period of time.
