Malcom

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign Bordeaux star Malcom for quite some time now. The Brazilian starlet has received attention from a slew of Premier League clubs for his prolific displays in the Ligue 1 this season. An attacking midfielder by trade, the 20-year-old can play in a variety of positions in the attack. His versatility and deadly skills make him seem like an interesting transfer target, thus justifying the hype.

In 21 Ligue 1 appearances this term, Malcom has scored 7 goals and 5 assists while winning the Man Of The Match award five times already. He moved from Corinthians to join Bordeaux about two years ago and took some time to make a name for himself in the French top-flight. However, at present, he is touted as one of their most promising young stars.

Given Mauricio Pochettino’s flair for developing and nurturing young talent, it comes as no surprise that we have been linked with a move for the highly-rated attacker. On paper, he seems like a wonderful player and no club can ever have too many of those. To further fuel our hopes, Malcom even recently admitted that moving to the Premier League is a ‘dream’ for him.

Speaking after starring in Bordeaux’s 1-0 win against Nantes, the player seemed to be in an upbeat mood.

“I do not know if I will be staying or leaving,” Malcom was quoted by the Express. “I leave that to my agents, to the club. If I leave that is great, I thank the club for everything.

“That is life. These are choices. There you go. Now we will see. If I have to stay, I will stay. If I am to leave, then I will leave. So long as I am here, I will do my work.

“Is England a dream? Yes, it is a dream, it is a dream for all players and I am no different. As I said, I am here, I must think about working and nothing else. I must not think about leaving now.”

With his raw attacking skills, clubs across England would consider his signing as a dream move as well. There is hardly any doubt about Malcom growing into an established Premier League player in the years to come and if he chooses to join us, the Brazilian could set pulses racing across North London.
