Tottenham interested in signing 22-year-old Manchester United star as contract talks stall

Anthony Martial

Manchester United star Anthony Martial has been linked with us after reports emerged suggesting that his contract negotiations with Manchester United have stalled. According to RMC Sport, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Real Madrid are tracking the situation.

The 22-year-old arrived at the Old Trafford when Louis Van Gaal was the manager and it was thought that he could end up becoming a superstar, helping United return to their trophy-winning days.

United paid a fee which could rise to £57.6million to lure Martial and he did well during his first season as he went on to score 18 goals and provide 11 assists. Under Van Gaal, Martial was a key part of the United first-team, however, things started to change after Jose Mourinho was appointed as the manager of the club a season later.

Martial has so far started 18 games this season, scoring just 4 goals and his game time is likely to continue declining following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January. Martial has 18 months remaining on his current deal with United and if reports are to be believed, he has rejected the chance to sign a contract extension.

We are reportedly among the teams that have displayed an interest in signing the player. Though Martial has struggled to make the desired impact this season, he is a very talented player as he has proven it in the past.

United fans will surely be wanting him to stay considering that he is still a young player who could continue to get better.

However, he will surely be frustrated by his lack of game time under Mourinho and will be open to a fresh challenge. If we do sign him, he could help us in forming an exciting frontline alongside Harry Kane and Lucas Moura.
