Things have been going quite well for us lately and here is another reason to feel good over the weekend. As per a report from Daily Star, Tottenham are understood to be ahead of other Premier League clubs chasing Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus. Until now, Liverpool have also registered an interest but Spurs stand a more solid chance at acquiring his signature this summer.

The report has been substantiated by information procured from bookies and as per Betway’s Alan Alger, Tottenham are ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Reus.

He explained: “Reus has hit the ground running since his long-awaited return from injury and plenty of Premier League clubs look ready to pounce if he is seeking a new challenge in England.

“Tottenham are the 10/3 favourites to sign the speedy German ahead of Liverpool, who are 11/2 to reunite Jurgen Klopp with his former star.

“London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are next in the betting at 10/1 while Manchester City who aren’t exactly goal-shy at the moment, are 14/1 to add another star striker to their ranks.”

The skilled forward is yet to agree to a new deal with Dortmund and this has led to speculation that Reus is seeking an exit this summer. Once the season comes to an end, he will have a year left on his contract and if Dortmund fail to tie him down to a new deal, Spurs could stand to capitalise.

Reus is a sensational talent and although he did not feature for the longest time due to an injury, he has started playing of late and his performances have been quite impressive despite the long break.

In fact, he is a testament to the saying – form is temporary but class is permanent. And if his performances convey anything, it is class. Signing him would undoubtedly be a coup for us but what do you think? Do we really stand a chance to purchase him ahead of Liverpool?
