Tottenham will be looking forward to their only chance of winning silverware this season when they face Swansea in the FA Cup. Surely, the boys will be looking to go all the way to the finals.
As the team prepares for the clash against Carlos Carvalhal’s side, the onus would be on us to show that we can dispatch sides even without Harry Kane. Ever since Carvalhal took over the Welsh side, he has seen them rise from the drop zone and they too will be looking to do a number on us.
While Kane left us due to an injury against Bournemouth, we still scored four goals to emphatically defeat the Cherries and prove that we do not need the Englishman to score all the time.
Hopefully, we can perform at the same level and win the game easily. The Spurs players were spending a lot of time preparing for the clash at the Liberty Stadium and we got to see the likes of Son Heung-min, Mousa Dembele, Hugo Lloris and even Fernando Llorente get ready for the tie.
Llorente could be the man that could get the nod to start in the match and given his ties with Swansea, he might have a point to prove to his former employers.
Llorente has not had the best of times since swapping the white of Swansea for Spurs but this could be the moment for him to turn things around for himself.
The other important aspect is that we have to keep in mind is ensuring a finish in the top-four. We cannot be distracted by the FA Cup.
We are ahead of Liverpool and are only four points behind Manchester United. A good win against Swansea would be a confidence booster and that could eventually help us in the race for a Champions League place and hopefully, we don’t fluff our lines at the Liberty.
