Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur can take another step towards qualification for the Champions League with a game against runaway league leaders Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men need three wins out of remaining six games to confirm qualification for the Champions League. However, they will be wary of City, who blew an opportunity to win the Premier League last weekend, throwing away a 2-0 lead against Manchester United to lose 3-2 at the Etihad.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris is the first-choice between the sticks for Spurs and has to be at his sublime best in order to not concede against Manchester City.

Serge Aurier (RB)

Aurier might be preferred over Trippier against City. The Ivorian’s pace and bombarding runs down the right can cause City defenders a lot of problems.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Sanchez has been a reliable figure for Spurs since the start of the season and should continue to feature at the heart of our defence.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

A leader and a rock at the back for Spurs, Vertonghen will have a task cut out to stop the excellent City attackers.

Ben Davies (LB)

While Danny Rose started against Stoke, Davies will be back for Saturday’s game. The Welshman lacks pace but makes up for it with his intelligent defending and awareness.

Eric Dier (CM)

Dier had a torrid time when Spurs played Manchester City last time out. He would be hoping to keep things tight in the midfield this time and not allow the opposition to excel.

Mousa Dembele (CM)

In recent months, Dembele has been a treat to watch. He twists and turns, marauds forward with the ball with ease and has kept Spurs purring in 2018.

Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min (LW)

Son Heung-min has constantly proved to be Tottenham’s match-winner. The South Korean has quietly become an established, integral and hugely important member of Spurs’ attack.

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli has looked more involved and influential in the recent few games. His match-winning brace against Chelsea illustrated his sublime qualities. He must start against City.

Christian Eriksen (RW)

Eriksen has dazzling quick feet, a fully rounded passing game and a touch of guile. He lacks pace but reads the game so well and influences games with ease. A sure starter at the weekend.

Harry Kane (ST)

Kane has just returned from an injury but the mercurial striker is capable of delivering on the big night against the big boys of the Premier League.

[Video] Amazing new time-lapse footage showcases pitch and seating areas of Tottenham’s new stadium

Tottenham new stadium

Tottenham’s new stadium is towards completion and a new time-lapse video from last week has been shared which highlights the final stages of work being done.

The video begins with a view of the exterior where cranes are working on one section of the structure. The next part features an aerial view of the entire stadium. The video shows construction being done throughout the night to get the venue ready as quickly as possible.

A clip from the video showcases a section where numerous glass panes are yet to be installed, however, a number of cranes and workers are on the job.

The pitch was installed a week ago and an interior shot displays the grass and the artificial pitch lighting. It is great to see that most of the seats are installed and the LED hoardings across the seating area of the stadium.

Tottenham downplay interest in signing 25-year-old Colombian star

Wilmar Barrios

Wilmar Barrios

Tottenham have no plans of signing Wilmar Barrios from Boca Junior, sources have told ESPN. The Colombian international had a decent World Cup with the national side and was linked with a move to Spurs, according to the report.

Reports (h/t ESPN) suggested that we had agreed on personal terms with the 25-year-old’s representatives and were preparing a bid for the midfielder.

However, sources have told ESPN that there were no discussions in the summer and he isn’t a target for Mauricio Pochettino in the winter window.

Spurs were the only club to not sign a player in the summer but the manager was open to signings in January.

The manager was quoted by ESPN as saying:

“In football you always need to think you can improve, and you need to try to improve your squad.

“We couldn’t sign [in the summer] for different circumstances, but we wanted to sign.

“Now January will come and we’re going to try to sign. I think it’s not only us — all the clubs and managers want to sign players, must refresh the squad.

“We need to try again in January or the summer if we want to move on the team and the club.”

Spurs are in a great position in the Premier League as we are just a couple of points behind the league leaders.
