Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur can take another step towards qualification for the Champions League with a game against runaway league leaders Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men need three wins out of remaining six games to confirm qualification for the Champions League. However, they will be wary of City, who blew an opportunity to win the Premier League last weekend, throwing away a 2-0 lead against Manchester United to lose 3-2 at the Etihad.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris is the first-choice between the sticks for Spurs and has to be at his sublime best in order to not concede against Manchester City.

Serge Aurier (RB)

Aurier might be preferred over Trippier against City. The Ivorian’s pace and bombarding runs down the right can cause City defenders a lot of problems.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Sanchez has been a reliable figure for Spurs since the start of the season and should continue to feature at the heart of our defence.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

A leader and a rock at the back for Spurs, Vertonghen will have a task cut out to stop the excellent City attackers.

Ben Davies (LB)

While Danny Rose started against Stoke, Davies will be back for Saturday’s game. The Welshman lacks pace but makes up for it with his intelligent defending and awareness.

Eric Dier (CM)

Dier had a torrid time when Spurs played Manchester City last time out. He would be hoping to keep things tight in the midfield this time and not allow the opposition to excel.

Mousa Dembele (CM)

In recent months, Dembele has been a treat to watch. He twists and turns, marauds forward with the ball with ease and has kept Spurs purring in 2018.

Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min (LW)

Son Heung-min has constantly proved to be Tottenham’s match-winner. The South Korean has quietly become an established, integral and hugely important member of Spurs’ attack.

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli has looked more involved and influential in the recent few games. His match-winning brace against Chelsea illustrated his sublime qualities. He must start against City.

Christian Eriksen (RW)

Eriksen has dazzling quick feet, a fully rounded passing game and a touch of guile. He lacks pace but reads the game so well and influences games with ease. A sure starter at the weekend.

Harry Kane (ST)

Kane has just returned from an injury but the mercurial striker is capable of delivering on the big night against the big boys of the Premier League.
