Spurs won 2-1 at Stoke City last weekend, thanks to a sublime show from Christian Eriksen. Spurs now face runaway leaders Manchester City at Wembley and will be looking for a win to keep the pressure up on Liverpool and Manchester United.
Ahead of the City encounter, the players were spotted in fine spirits. Attacking right-back Serge Aurier was spotted challenging a loose ball. He will be hoping to start ahead of Kieran Trippier on Saturday.
Erik Lamela was snapped striking the ball. The Argentine has found game time tough to come by since returning from a long-term injury but he remains one of our team’s key players, who is capable of turning the game on its head.
Eriksen was all smiling in the training session, as he appeared to share a joke with Son Heung-min and Michel Vorm. The Dane was the architect of our gritty win last weekend at Stoke and his influence against City will be vital.
Meanwhile, the most pleasing sight for the fans was Toby Alderweireld’s presence at the Hotspur Way. The centre-back has not played much since recovering from a hamstring injury but could get a nod if Pochettino opts for a three-man defence against the league leaders.
I think we have a brilliant chance to win against City, given our opposition’s poor recent form. City have suffered heavily at the hands of Liverpool and Manchester United in the last couple of weeks, which gives us a fantastic chance to go all guns blazing from the onset and get three vital points on board.
