Mauricio Pochettino

With a high-octane FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester United right around the corner, tensions are rising in the Tottenham camp. This is a splendid chance for us to lay our hands on some silverware to ensure we don’t end the season empty-handed.

United have been rather hit-or-miss with their performances this term and if we play our cards right, we could make a difference.

Our gaffer Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his feelings on the subject. Despite the fact that several fans of ours are waiting with bated breath for a positive result, Pochettino has mentioned that the outcome will not be the end of the crossroads for us.

According to Football London, Pochettino said,

“It’s fantastic if Southampton, Chelsea, Manchester United or Tottenham will win the FA Cup.”

“Is it going to change our life? I don’t believe, I don’t believe. Who needs it more, I don’t know. We are going to try and fight to win, but it is not about need or not need, it’s about a title that would be fantastic to finish the season, play in the final and win trophy.

“At the end it would be fantastic the finish the season with a trophy I don’t think it’s about need or not need.”

From there on, Poch threw some clarity on the fitness of our players. There has been speculation that Michel Vorm could retain his spot between the sticks. The second-choice keeper has been a constant for us throughout our FA Cup endeavours and our gaffer seemed to agree that it is a possibility.

“You know that I never confirm the team before or confirm the players. It’s one possibility of course. We have tomorrow the last training session and I will decide tomorrow the starting XI,” said Pochettino.

The manager also went on to provide the team news and he has confirmed that we have a full-strength squad to choose from as Danny Rose and Harry Winks are the only absentees.

Well, we look good to take on United at Wembley and let’s hope that we put in a crunching performance to progress further in our pursuit of silverware.
