Gareth Bale has agreed on a deal to join Tottenham at the end of the season, according to reports coming in from Spain.

The report from Don Balon (h/t The Express) claims that the Welshman is aware his time at Real Madrid is coming to an end and has made up his mind to return to Spurs.

Bale, who has had an injury-plagued season with the La Liga giants, is also expected to be benched for the Champions League final against Liverpool and his future has been in doubt for a while.

The report also claims that Real Madrid are not willing to let go of their star easily and want to include Harry Kane in a swap deal but that will not sit well with a number of Tottenham fans.

Bale has played just 32 games for Los Galacticos this season and has scored 18 goals for the side. The problem lies with the fact that Bale has an injury record which isn’t great and the Welshman has only started 12 La Liga games for Zinedine Zidane’s team this season.

Spurs do need to add more quality to their side but it seems unlikely that we would want to swap Kane for Bale, even if we are paid a crazy amount of money.

Kane has been our top scorer this season and he will be looking to end the season on a high while helping us make it into the Champions League for next season as well.

Losing someone like Kane would take our club a number of steps backwards and even if we do get Bale back, there is no one who can replace the English striker at the moment.

Being able to sign Bale for a relatively lower fee would be great for us but that seems unlikely as Madrid are not easy to deal with. Hopefully, we can get the player we want in the summer and not have to part with possibly the best striker in the world.
