According to a report by Daily Express, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a summer move for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish. The report further claims that we will face competition from our London rivals West Ham United.

The Villans may have failed to secure a promotion to the Premier League despite being one of the better teams in the Championship but Grealish has been one of their brightest talents. The 22-year-old is an attacking midfielder by trade and is regarded as one of the sharpest attackers at Villa right now.

Over the course of the last season, Grealish managed to score 3 goals and provide 6 assists. In addition to that, he also created a total of 47 chances in 25 Championship games, which goes to show that he has a creative flair as well.

As far as the role of the attacking midfielder is concerned, Tottenham are heavily reliant on Dele Alli. But going forward, it would certainly help to have a player like Grealish in the mix.

From his performances so far, the youngster is primed for a big future in the Premier League and while Villa may have failed to progress, Grealish will receive a brilliant opportunity to play for us in the top-flight.

However, the report states that Villa are demanding a fee in the region of £40million, which is quite steep. Daniel Levy is unlikely to shell out such a huge amount to sign a Championship player but if we are able to negotiate the price, a move for Grealish could benefit us in the long run.
