Tottenham are interested in the services of Norwich star James Maddison according to The Sun (h/t Leicestershire Live).
The 21-year-old had a fruitful season for the Canaries with 14 goals and 8 assists in the Championship but could not help them reach the Premier League.
Spurs will face competition from Leicester City and Everton for the services of the English midfielder and Norwich might be willing to sell their youngster given that their financial problems have already led them to let go of Josh Murphy.
Maddison mostly plays as an attacking midfielder but can also drop back into a deeper position. Last season, the Englishman was also played out on the right, so his versatility is something Spurs can certainly use.
This isn’t the first youngster from the Championship being linked with us, as rumours of Jack Grealish being a target for us have been doing the rounds for a while.
If we are to compare the pair, it is Maddison who had a great season last time around and seems to be more ready for the Premier League.
It will be interesting to see how much Norwich demand for the 21-year-old, given that three Premier League clubs are interested in him.
If Maddison does want to develop and get better as a footballer, there is no doubt he would be thinking of joining Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of the staff at Spurs.
The youngster might not start every game for us next season but surely, he will get his opportunities to prove his ability and will also provide us with the depth we require in the midfield.
