Vincent Janssen could be on his way back to Fenerbahce on a loan deal but Tottenham want the Turkish giants to fork out £4.5m for the move, according to Channel A Spor (h/t Daily Star).
The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the club and did have a pretty good start but ended the campaign scoring only 5 goals in 18 games.
Despite not tearing apart the goalscoring charts in Turkey, Fenerbahce are willing to give Janssen another crack but they do not want to go over £1.8m for the former AZ Alkmaar striker.
Janssen joined Tottenham in 2016 from the Dutch club for a fee of £17m but ended up scoring just 6 goals in 36 games for us.
It was no surprise that he was then loaned out to Fenerbahce to get more playing time under his belt but an injury curtailed his season in Turkey.
Sending him out on loan does seem like a decent idea as long as we believe he will come good for us. The 24-year-old was one of the best strikers in the Netherlands when we signed him and even though he did not score a lot of goals for us, Janssen was always willing to put in a good shift for the club.
Janssen would not get a lot of playing time at Spurs this season either as Harry Kane will lead the line and we do have Fernando Llorente who can chip in with a few appearances.
It would also make sense for us to try and sell him but given his record over the past two years, we might not get a decent value in the market.
