World Cup Golden Boot leader Harry Kane hopes that the performance by him and the Three Lions in Russia will inspire children. The England captain also added that the team is planning to “finish the job” as they try to win the tournament for the first time since 1966.

England take on Croatia for a place in the World Cup final and Kane was quoted by Sky Sports that meeting some of the heroes from 1966 was inspirational.

“It’s amazing to meet any heroes from ’66 and it gives you so much inspiration, obviously it’s been a long time since England have done well in a major tournament.”

The Tottenham man also added that he has a job to inspire everyone watching the tournament and he is proud to be leading the current side.

Kane also added that they want to go all the way to the end of the tournament and pick up the prized trophy.

“No-one wants to go home. Everyone wants to finish the job and we are excited to try and do that. We want to be here till the end. We are one step closer to what is the biggest game in football as a professional.”

The match against Croatia will be a tense affair but Kane will be expecting to score a goal or two and take the English side to the final.

The Tottenham man has been one of the best players in the world in recent seasons and an unexpected final on the world’s biggest stage would certainly be a testament to his quality.
