Tottenham’s World Cup-winning keeper is a wanted man as the Sun reports that Real Madrid are interested in Hugo Lloris.
The report claims that the Tottenham star has four years left on his deal and while Real are targeting him, should Spurs decide to sell their man, they would want a fee close to the record fee paid by Liverpool for Alisson.
The 31-year-old is one of the best in the world and even though he is prone to an error, there is no doubting his leadership qualities.
Real have their own problems as they sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus this season and need to invest in the side.
Selling Lloris so late in the transfer window would be a major folly for us as it would be difficult to replace him but our fans seem divided on this one.
Some of them claim that selling him would be good since he is getting a little old while others were sceptical of better players joining us or us finding a replacement for the 31-year-old.
Twitter was amok with reactions from the fans and here are a select few regarding Lloris’ future at the club.
Didnt Bale sign a new contract then leave for Real not much after? Dont forget who our Chairman is yeah, every player has their price! #LevysTottenham

Sell him for that if true (prob isn’t)! I love Hugo but he’s 31 now and maybe has had his time at the club, we could get a cheaper decent alternative like Butland or Schmeichel and have money for the coffers in other positions. Makes sense to me!

I know it’s not true but if it was I’d bite Madrid’s hand off. Lloris is almost 32 and is starting to slip up here and there

I can’t think of many replacements who are likely to join us who are better

A four year contract doesn’t guarantee a player will stay when a club like Real Madrid shows an interest. All it does is strengthens Levy’s bargaining hand in terms of how much money he can demand. Personally, I don’t see Madrid making a bid for Lloris. Not a £60M bid.

Isn’t he 29/30 years old, not that I want him to leave he’s an outstanding goalkeeper for us.

Worth accepting the money…only if we can buy Jan Oblak.
