Tottenham youngster Marcus Edwards is the latest young blood who has been linked with a move out of England. The Sun reports that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the striker that Mauricio Pochettino once compared to Lionel Messi.
The report claims that the 19-year-old still has a couple of years left on his professional contract with Tottenham. However, his lack of first-team opportunities at Tottenham means he could the latest Englishman to leave the country.
The Bundesliga club have made contact with Tottenham and are discussing a fee for the youngster. Leverkusen fear that they could lose either Julian Brandt or Leon Bailey before the end of the window.
The club sees Edwards as an ideal signing that would fit into their side should either player leave.
Should Edwards actually make the switch, he would be the second youth player to move to a foreign club. Reo Griffiths, another highly-rated player, was lured way by Lyon, as the non-English clubs look to give youngsters a faster route into the first-team.
Jadon Sancho was the best example of a player leaving a top side for more football. The Englishman left Manchester City to play for Borussia Dortmund and was one of their more impressive performers last season.
