Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has claimed that even though the club do not want to sell Jack Grealish, it will be tough to compete with Tottenham, as per Football.london.
The report claims that Spurs have been interested in the 22-year-old midfielder throughout the summer window and that Bruce would not stop Grealish from going out and playing Champions League football this season.
The manager of the Championship club stated that Villa are trying to keep hold of the 22-year-old but there has been no agreement between the clubs yet.
Bruce was speaking to Sky Sports News (h/t Football.london):
“There’s no question that he’s a really, really top player. I don’t say it very often, but he can play in any team. That’s what I think of him. Now, the two clubs haven’t reached an agreement yet,”
The Aston Villa manager also added that the new owners are not looking to sell the player and that Grealish would be staying at Villa in an “ideal world”.
However, should a huge offer come for the Englishman, then things could happen.
“However, it will be difficult when we’re competing against a team that is one of the big teams in Europe now, not just this country. They’re a big team in Europe, competing in the Champions League.
“But the owner’s made it pretty clear that he doesn’t want to sell anybody and that includes Jack. If there is a huge, huge, offer then we’ll have to wait and see.”
There is one more aspect that is working in favour of Spurs, with Grealish wanting to link up with Mauricio Pochettino, according to Football.london.

The transfer window closes in a couple of days and Tottenham have a lot to do if we are to see Grealish playing in a Spurs shirt.
