Huge blow for Tottenham as new stadium might not be ready before October

The Sun reports that a recruitment agency posted a requirement for 10 electricians to work on a large project in North London.

A source close to the Sun added that the “large project” was Tottenham’s new stadium. The report adds the stadium might not be ready for another three months, as the contract for the electricians lasts that long.

The report further adds that Tottenham believe that the stadium will be up and running for the clash against Manchester City on 28 October.

The matches against Liverpool and Cardiff have been shifted to Wembley and Mauricio Pochettino does not want to play City in a third stadium should our new home not be ready on time.

The problem lies with an NFL game being hosted at Wembley on the same date as the City clash. The report from the Sun adds that our game could be played on the same weekend but it would have to be shifted to Monday night.

However, that seems to be out of the question as the report claims that this rescheduling breaks the Premier League’s ground sharing rule.

Pochettino was also quoted by the Sun as saying:

“If our stadium is not ready we need to find a way to play at Wembley because three stadiums in one season would be too much.

“Maybe the day after the NFL game the pitch is not in the best condition.

“But we need to make the effort and try to play in the end because maybe to find another date will be difficult.”

The report added that our original plan to face Liverpool at our new home was scrapped due to safety systems not being ready.
