Harry Kane has claimed that Tottenham’s players have to start winning trophies and that the team isn’t “young any more”.

The Englishman was on target in our 3-1 win over Fulham at the weekend and added that the players wanted to win trophies.

Kane was quoted by ESPN as saying:

“We’re a team that has made huge strides in a short amount of time so it’s just about continuing that, and the only way to do that is to start winning things.

“We’re at a stage where we’re not young any more. We’re all getting to an age where we’re a bit more experienced and we want to win. We want to win everything we do. It’s a long old season, but starting with two wins out of two is important.”

The report from ESPN added that the average age of the 14 Tottenham players who were involved in the win over Fulham was 26. And Kane was asked if Spurs were reaching their prime under the manager.

“Yes, I think so. It’s the fourth year the manager [Mauricio Pochettino] has been here, and a lot of us have been here throughout that spell as well.

“When you have a team that knows each other for that long, you know how each other play on the pitch and off the pitch you know how to keep everyone up for it and everyone honest.”

Tottenham do have one of the best starting XIs in the Premier League and we have progressed each year under Pochettino.

The Argentine has transformed our team from finishing in mid-table to challenging for the top-four and more.

The only thing missing from all the good work done so far is a trophy and that could change if the team plays to its potential this season.
