Gary Neville does not believe a lack of transfers and our stadium problems will negatively affect our chances of staying in the top-four.

The Sky Sports pundit praised Mauricio Pochettino for the work he has done and claimed that this is the best Spurs side he has seen.

Tottenham started their season with two wins in two and the former Manchester United right-back was quoted by Football.london as saying:

“I think Tottenham, over a period of two or three years, have been consistent enough and still retained all their best players for us to show a level of belief for us to think they should be in the top four again.

“They’ve won our trust, they’ve performed season in and season out, it’s a brilliant performance by Mauricio Pochettino there with no budget, no budget.”

Mauricio Pochettino

The Sky Sports pundit shared a number of issues that could have caused our season to collapse last year but believed Pochettino’s spirit kept us going.

“This is the most consistent and best Tottenham team by an absolute street that we’ve seen in my lifetime, an absolute street. They’re a joy really, the players keep coming and doing it again and again and they overcame these challenges last season.”

Tottenham’s next clash is against Manchester United and even with us not signing any players in the summer window, we seem like a much better team than the Red Devils.

Pochettino has worked wonders during his stay at Tottenham and the only thing we need is silverware to top off a great spell under the Argentine.

“You would be crazy to sack this man” – Former Tottenham manager backs Pochettino despite tough start

Tim Sherwood claims it would be crazy to sack Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham haven’t been great this season and returned to action after the international break with a 1-1 draw against Watford.

This was our seventh straight game without a win this season, and there is speculation about Mauricio Pochettino’s future at the club (h/t Daily Star).

There are several players who are free agents at the end of the season, and most of our stars are not in form too.

Spurs have one point from two Champions League ties and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United.

However, former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood claims that the Argentine should not be sacked from his position while speaking Bein Sports (h/t Daily Star):

“You would be crazy to sack this man.

“He’s one of the best managers in the world and I think he has built that reputation.

“If they were to change, it would be difficult to find a man who buys into the philosophy of the whole football club.”

Mourinho not the right man for the job

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hasn’t worked since getting the sack at Old Trafford last season, but Sherwood didn’t see the Portuguese in London:

“I don’t think they will go to Mourinho because I think he has his own way of doing things.

“He wants to be very dominant.”

That might not work with Daniel Levy, and we don’t spend a lot in the transfer windows. Mourinho is capable of winning trophies but he also splashes a lot of cash, something that Pochettino has kept in check.

Tottenham to bid £10million for 19-year-old Championship star to solve right-back issues

Tottenham target West Brom right-back Nathan Ferguson

Nathan Ferguson has impressed for West Bromwich Albion as their left-back this season and Tottenham are interested in the 19-year-old, according to the Sun.

The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino wants another option for the right-back position after selling Kieran Trippier in the summer.

The Englishman has done well at Atletico Madrid this summer while Serge Aurier has struggled for form.

Kyle Walker-Peters has struggled with an injury while we have tried Moussa Sissoko and Davinson Sanchez in that position too.

Tottenham’s scouts are raving about the West Brom star and Crystal Palace are also interested in the 19-year-old (h/t Sun).

Spurs could offer £10million for the defender but West Brom want to keep hold of the youngster as they seek promotion (h/t Sun).

However, a move to the Premier League would be tough for Ferguson to resist and the youngster has done well on both sides of the defence.

The youngster has a goal and an assist already this season, and it will be interesting to see how things go.

Tottenham need to make moves in January

The report claims that a January deal is possible if Tottenham submit a decent bid, and we need to add some quality to the side.

Tottenham have struggled this season and the right-back position has been problematic for us.

“It is too far away” – Pochettino urges Tottenham to be ready ahead of January transfer window

Mauricio Pochettino wants club to be ready for January spending

Mauricio Pochettino wants Tottenham to be ready for the January window after the 1-1 draw with Watford.

Spurs made a few signings in the summer but things haven’t worked out well for us. Tottenham lie seventh in the Premier League and have won just once in their past seven fixtures.

Pochettino was asked about possible January plans and the Argentine suggested he was happy with the team (h/t Sky Sports):

“We are not going to get any benefit to talk about January, it is too far away, we have got a lot of games to play.

“That is the structure of the club that is working and thinking and they need to be ready if we need to do something, if not we keep going, but I am happy with the squad, I am happy with the players.”

The manager added that he couldn’t guess what would happen in January and further claimed that they might not move if the club goes on a winning run.

Pochettino wanted the team to concentrate on the clash against Red Star, which could be a tough game given our European struggles this season.

Spurs need to plan for the winter

Pochettino hasn’t made too many moves in the winter window during his Tottenham career, but he needs a few more signings.

Our defence looks a little old now with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen struggling a bit. We could do with a right-back and another support striker for Harry Kane too.

Hopefully, things work out for us once the January window opens, and we land some quality players to turn the season around.

Hawk-Eye apologises for major VAR error after Tottenham’s goal against Watford

Hawk-Eye apologises for major error during Tottenham-Watford draw

Hawk-Eye Innovations have apologised for the graphic put on the giant screen during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Watford.

Spurs were trailing to an Abdoulaye Doucoure effort in the sixth minute and seemed to have levelled the score thanks to Dele Alli.

The Englishman took advantage of a mix up in the Watford defence and scored in the 86th minute.

However, play was stopped as the referee checked with VAR for a possible handball in the build-up by Alli.

The official then signalled the goal stood, but the giant screen posted an image of “No Goal” which led to a lot of confusion amongst the fans.

Hawk-Eye Innovations tweeted that they were working with PGMOL and the Premier League to ensure such mistakes aren’t repeated.

Spurs were lucky to get the point

Watford were great at the back and even though we struck the woodwork a few times, we weren’t all that great.

Tottenham need to play better in the upcoming weeks, and it will be interesting to see if this point turns our season around.

We started with a pretty strong team and three at the back, but that was changed at half-time as we were struggling.

Alli did show the right desire to get into the box and score, and we need similar effort in the coming weeks.

VAR has been on our side a lot of times but we have been hurt by the technology too, like the Serge Aurier goal disallowed at Leicester City.
