Manchester United defender Eric Bailly could be willing to quit the club in the January window, as per the Mirror.

The 24-year-old has been benched often by Jose Mourinho this season and Tottenham are interested in the Ivorian (h/t Mirror).

Bailly had joined the Red Devils for a fee of £30m in 2014 but the report claims that Mourinho has blamed the defender for the loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The central defender wasn’t selected against us and was a late substitute in the wins over Burnley and Watford.

Arsenal are also interested in the player and the report adds that should the defender be frozen out by Mourinho, he will have a big decision to make. The report further claims that Pochettino is a huge fan of the defender from his time in Spain.

We did beat United at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to sell a promising player to a rival.

The 24-year-old is a quality player and all he needs is a confidence boost. Pochettino has worked wonders at Tottenham and could do the same for the United defender.

Spurs didn’t make a signing in the summer but we have to add players in the January window.

It is important to note that we have three quality defenders on the team. Youngsters Juan Foyth and Cameron Carter-Vickers are also looking to get a game, meaning Bailly will face a lot of competition for a starting spot.
