Tottenham star Christian Eriksen could have a “chronic” stomach injury, according to Denmark’s coach Age Hareide.
Eriksen played our opening six Premier League fixtures but hasn’t featured for the side since the win against Brighton. The 26-year-old even played in the Champions League loss to Inter, and for Denmark during the previous international break.
Hareide claimed that the player might not even play against the Republic of Ireland on 13 October. The Danish coach was speaking to Canal 9 (h/t BBC) and said:
“Such an injury can be chronic, and it is true that Tottenham also fears that.
“It is doubtful whether we will lure him to Dublin and make him play. I do not think that Tottenham is particularly interested in that.”
The coach was asked if the Tottenham star would be out for weeks or months and claimed he didn’t know the answer to that.
The Dane is one of our key players and it would be a huge loss should he not be fit for a while.
Tottenham have a number of injuries to deal with as Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier and Dele Alli are all out.
Spurs made a great start to the season, even with these injuries, and we sit just a couple of points behind the Premier League leaders.

Hopefully, Eriksen and the rest of the players return to fitness soon and we can play our strongest side for the majority of the season.
