Christian Eriksen Tottenham

Tottenham have offered Christian Eriksen a new deal in an attempt to thwart Real Madrid’s advances, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sun).

The Dane has been one of our most influential players since moving from Ajax but is currently out with an injury.

The 26-year-old has a couple of years left on his current deal (h/t Sun) and the club wants to extend his stay in London.

The report adds that Madrid are looking at a long-term replacement for Luka Modric, who was linked with a move to Inter Milan in the summer. Madrid are struggling at the moment with no wins and no goals from their last four matches.

The report adds that Barcelona were interested in the Dane but opted to sign Arthur from Gremio instead.

Eriksen has been offered a deal a new deal which is close to the £200,000-a-week contract signed by Harry Kane in the summer, as per the report.

The 26-year-old scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists for Spurs in the Premier League last season, and he should be looking to achieve similar numbers this campaign too.

Spurs have been hit hard with many senior players picking up injuries, and we need Eriksen to return to the full fitness soon.

The Dane is crucial to our chances of winning titles under Mauricio Pochettino, and we should push to ensure he signs the new deal at Spurs.
