Harry Winks of Tottenham

Harry Winks is ready to play for the England U21 side and follow the footsteps of Harry Kane. The U21 side have qualified for the Euros and the midfielder was asked if he had any issues playing for the U21s.

The Englishman was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying:

“No, of course not.

“The more games I play the better. I have missed a lot of football with my ankle injury and I’ve had a lot of problems with it still to this day.

“I have to manage it at times, but playing for your country is an honour, regardless of the level; under 21s, under 19s, under 18s, under 17s.

Harry Winks

Kane played for the U21s in the 2015 European Championship despite playing for the senior side a couple of months earlier, as per the report.

The Tottenham midfielder played the entire 90 minutes for the Three Lions in their 3-2 win over Spain and put up a good performance.

The 21-year-old had an injury-plagued 2017/18 season but seems to have put those concerns behind him in the current campaign.

Winks has a couple of Premier League starts to his name and should have a big role to play as we look to win silverware under Mauricio Pochettino. He is such a great talent and we’d benefit a lot if he fulfills his potential at Tottenham.
