Nick Pope

Tottenham are eyeing a move for Burnley star Nick Pope, according to the Sun. Though we have Hugo Lloris, it looks like the club is targeting a No.2 stopper.

Nick Pope is currently out injured but he was phenomenal for Burnley last season when their first-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton got injured.

Pope has gained a massive reputation since bursting onto the scene last season. He even made it to the England squad for the World Cup. The goalkeeping situation at Burnley is quite healthy, meaning there is a good chance of Pope considering his options after returning from his injury.

The Englishman would be an excellent No.2 for us as he is a quality shot-stopper. Tottenham’s hunt for a second choice keeper is understandable as Michel Vorm’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

In that case, Nick Pope would be a massive upgrade and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t pursue the talented Burnley star.

He would be a really good addition and would be a classy backup option to have in the squad. Just like the goalkeeping position, it would be nice if the club pursued players of other positions too. We lack squad depth and our squad would be a complete one if we sign backup players to compete with the first-team stars.
