Latest Tottenham news: Tests conducted at the new ground as completion nears

Football.london visited the new Tottenham stadium and reported that several tests were being conducted.

The report claims that the stadium evacuation system was being tested on Monday with a loud message being broadcast via the sound system.

The testing of this evacuation system is one part of the important safety systems check that need to be done to ensure there are no issues, according to the report.

The report adds that the work outside the stadium is more or less complete. The remaining portion of the veil around the venue is to be installed with workers needing to put up the panels in the south-east corner.

Tottenham refute claims of failed test

There are several screens placed around the stadium and the report adds that testing on the giant screens on the west and east of the ground have taken place.

Smaller screens on top of the navigation column and signposts around the site have also been tested, according to the report.

The report further claims that rumours of a failed smoke test in the basement were refuted by the club.

Tottenham will remain at Wembley till March, at least, as the club confirmed we would face Arsenal on 2 March.

A further update is expected from the club regarding when the stadium could be open, but the most likely date seems to be in April thanks to Crystal Palace’s progress in the FA Cup.
