Spurs transfer news: West Ham and Bournemouth join race for Jack Grealish

The Mirror reports that Tottenham will “try their luck” for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish in the summer.

The report adds that Spurs failed with a £25million offer in the summer with the midfielder instead signing a new five-year deal with the Championship side.

The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for the Villans and has four goals and five assists in the Championship this season.

Villa lie in the final playoff spot as they eye a return to the Premier League, and England manager Gareth Southgate stated that Grealish needs to play in the top flight if he hopes to play for the national side (h/t Mirror).

Competition heating up for Grealish

Tottenham will not be the only club interested in the 23-year-old as the report claims that Bournemouth and West Ham are keeping tabs on Grealish.

The midfielder recently made the news when he was punched by a pitch invader during Villa’s game against rivals Birmingham City.

Grealish got the last laugh as he came up with the winner, and it will be interesting to see where his future lies.

Should Villa gain promotion to the Premier League, it could be difficult to pry him away from the club.

However, Tottenham should go all-out for the talented midfielder, especially if they are to spend another season in the Championship.

Tottenham are a little light on midfielders at the moment thanks to the club selling Mousa Dembele in the winter window.
