Spurs transfer news: Real Madrid seem to prefer Christian Eriksen over Paul Pogba

Christian Eriksen is becoming a preferred target for Real Madrid instead of Paul Pogba, according to reports from Spain (h/t Mirror).

The Dane has just one year left on his Tottenham contract after this season, and talks over a new deal have stalled.

The Mirror adds that Zinedine Zidane is keen on Pogba but the La Liga giants have also been linked with Eden Hazard and Eriksen.

Marca (h/t Mirror) adds that there are doubts at Madrid over how Pogba will fit into the club. Madrid are not looking at signing marquee signings who won’t help them beat Barcelona or win the Champions League, according to the report.

The president of the La Liga giants, Florentino Perez, isn’t a fan of Pogba and prefers Eriksen, according to El Confidencial (h/t Mirror).

Tottenham won’t let Eriksen leave on the cheap

The Mirror adds that since Eriksen has one year left on his deal, he could be signed from Tottenham. However, Daniel Levy will hold out for £130m (h/t Mirror) for the 27-year-old midfielder.

Eriksen has had an up and down season, but he has been great in the two wins at our new stadium.

The Dane scored and assisted in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and got the assist for Son Heung-min’s winner against Manchester City in the Champions League.
