Latest Spurs news: Mauricio Pochettino considers starting Harry Winks against Liverpool

The Daily Mail reports that Mauricio Pochettino is considering starting Harry Winks against Liverpool on Saturday.

Tottenham face the Reds in the Champions League final on Saturday, and Winks has made a recovery from groin surgery which curtailed his season.

The midfielder 23-year-old is brilliant for Spurs when fit but the Englishman has had his injury problems this season.

The report adds that Pochettino will take a decision on Harry Kane’s role in the team.

The English striker recovered from ankle ligament damage and has travelled with the side. It is to be seen if he starts against the Reds or finds himself on the bench at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Fans back Winks to start against Reds

The 23-year-old Winks has only started 17 Premier League games for us this season with a further seven more in the Champions League.

Giving him a place in the XI is a bit of a risk given his rustiness, but Winks could be the right decision as we look to keep Liverpool’s midfield in check.

The 23-year-old could partner Moussa Sissoko in the midfield, and it will be interesting to see how things go for us in the final on Saturday.

Many Tottenham fans backed Poch’s decision to possibly start with Winks, and here are some of their reactions from Twitter.
