Spurs transfer news: Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t discuss future after Champions League final

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was not going to discuss his future after the 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the Champions League final.

The Argentine had done a great job in taking the side to the final in Madrid.

Spurs had no investment in the side for two transfer windows, yet defeated Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City to face Liverpool.

Unfortunately, things did not go our way at the Wanda Metropolitano with Moussa Sissoko giving away a controversial penalty, and Liverpool winning 2-0.

The loss was a bitter pill to swallow after an incredible campaign and Pochettino did not want to discuss his future (h/t Daily Mail):

“It’s too early to talk a lot now, so early.

“We need to assimilate that defeat.

“For sure we are going to have time to talk in the future. The future can be tomorrow, after tomorrow.

“It is not a moment to talk too much. You can interpret things in different ways.”

Serie A giants interest in Pochettino

The Daily Mail adds that Pochettino has failed to dismiss links to Juventus who are searching for a new manager.

Max Allegri left the side after five seasons in charge and Pochettino claimed he could leave Spurs had he won the Champions League (h/t Daily Mail).

The manager added that this is the “time to stay calm” and there would be time to talk later on.

Pochettino also claimed that it is time to build for the “next period in their life” and was hopeful that there would be more success for the club in the coming years.

The Argentine’s hands have been tied due to the lack of spending over the years, and if we are to keep the manager, we have to spend in the summer window.
