“What a day to be alive”, “Finally” – Several Tottenham fans ecstatic as club announce first signing of the summer

Spurs transfer news: Tottenham confirm Jack Clarke signing and return on loan

Tottenham finally made a signing after nearly 18 months as the club confirmed Jack Clarke’s capture.

The 18-year-old is our first signing since Lucas Moura from PSG, and the BBC reports that the English winger has penned a deal until 2023.

The youngster has been loaned back to the Championship side, and the report claims that the deal is worth £10m, with further add-ons should certain clauses be reached.

Clarke came through the ranks at Elland Road and made his debut on 6th October last year under Marcelo Bielsa. The English youngster made 25 appearances for Leeds last season, but they missed out on Premier League promotion.

It will be interesting to see how Clarke develops under Bielsa as most of his appearances last season came off the bench.

Clarke was also delighted at the move and told Tottenham that he had joined one of the biggest clubs in the world:

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”

Tottenham fans react to first signing in over a year

This has been a long time coming, and hopefully, we sign a few more players before the end of the window.

Tottenham reached the Champions League final without one fresh signing last season and even ensured a top four place.

Most of our rivals have spent heavily in recent transfer windows and the fans were ecstatic that we signed a player.
