Spurs transfer news: Third bid for Fernandes rejected by Sporting

The Daily Mail claims that a third bid from Tottenham for Bruno Fernandes has been rejected by Sporting Lisbon.

The Portugal outfit want €70m for the 24-year-old, and Spurs’ third bid was €65m, which included €10m add-ons (h/t Daily Mail).

The report claims that the previous bids for Fernandes were €45m and €60m, which were both rejected by Sporting.

Fernandes scored plenty of goals last season and could be a great fit for the club in the summer.

Tottenham haven’t signed any players after the capture of Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke early on in the window.

Fernandes wants to leave the club

The report claims that Fernandes has told Sporting he wants to leave the club, with England his preferred destination.

Manchester United are also keeping an eye on the Portugal international and it should be an interesting couple of days as the transfer window closes.

Tottenham are unwilling to pay Sporting the €70m they demand, even if they include bonuses in the deal (h/t Daily Mail). Spurs have until Thursday to finalise all their transfers but they can sell players to foreign clubs until the end of the month.

Tottenham are still a little light in a couple of positions, such as the right-back spot, but we also need an attacking midfielder to join the ranks.
