Latest Spurs news: Eriksen, Son and Kane nominated for FIFPro World XI

Three Tottenham players were nominated for the 2019 FIFPro World XI.

Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane were picked from the Spurs side and this is the first time three players from the club have been nominated for the team (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com).

The final selection will be announced on 23rd September in Milan during the Best Football Awards.

Mauricio Pochettino is also in the running for an award as he has been nominated alongside Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp for the Best Men’s Coach award.

History made by two players

Kane had been nominated in the past, however, Eriksen and Son became the first Danish and Asian players respectively to be named in the list (h/t Tottenhamhotspur.com).

The pair was great during the second half of the previous season as we reached the Champions League final.

Kane also managed to score 17 Premier League goals despite missing a couple of months due to ankle problems.

Son’s nomination is deserved as well, as the South Korean was excellent despite taking part in several international competitions which cut short his time at Tottenham.

There could have been more inclusions from Spurs given the form of Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura last season, but many Spurs fans were pleased to see some of our stars making the cut.
