Vedat Muriqi scouted by Manchester United during England clash

The Daily Star (h/t Sun) claims that Manchester United have joined the race for Kosovo international Vedat Muriqi.

The 25-year-old put up an impressive showing against England during a recent Euro 2020 qualifier, and the report claims that Manchester United and Tottenham scouted the forward in the game.

Vedat Muriqi (L)

Muriqi has been impressive in the Turkish league over the past 18 months and has done a great job for his new club Fenerbahce.

The Kosovo international already has two goals from three games for his new club and has also attracted the attention of Serie A giants Napoli, according to the report.

United could move for the striker in the winter window as they lack options after the departures of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku (h/t Sun).

An option that Tottenham need

Tottenham are also in need of signing some quality cover for Harry Kane. We didn’t sign anyone to replace Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen as the pair left during the summer window.

Kane has had his injury problems in recent seasons, and we need to sign someone who can provide us with a different option in the final third. Muriqi is great in the air and would be a quality target man to have in the team.

It will be interesting to see if we move for the Kosovo star in the winter window or wait until the end of the season before signing another forward.
