Juventus scout three Tottenham players in loss to Liverpool

Serie A giants Juventus watched three Tottenham stars in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, according to Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato).

Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min were watched by the Juve scouts while Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah was also monitored (h/t Calciomercato).

Eriksen and Alderweireld are free agents at the end of the season while Son has a contract till 2023.

The South Korean was one of the brighter players for Tottenham and was partly responsible for us getting a lead.

His deflected shot was turned into the net by Harry Kane and Son also hit the crossbar in the second half. Alderweireld had to hold fort as Liverpool kept pounding us for an equaliser, while Eriksen had a game to forget.

Time for some departures at Spurs?

Losing any player on a free transfer isn’t the best outcome for a club, and it will be interesting to see if we sell Eriksen and Alderweireld in the winter window.

Son heung-min

The Dane has been poor this season and barely has put up a quality performance, while Alderweireld has done his bit but the rest of the team has let him down.

Tottenham cannot afford to lose Son at any cost, and we need to ensure he is not swayed by other European giants.

Juventus have a history of landing quality players for free, and that policy seems to be in full flow ahead of the summer.

Bruno Fernandes open to transfer from Sporting but won’t force move

Tottenham were linked with Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old helped Portugal win the Nations League and was in great goal-scoring form for Sporting Lisbon too.

Manchester United were also linked with the midfielder, but a move away from Sporting failed to take place (h/t Daily Mail).

Fernandes has scored eight goals and provided six assists for Sporting this season. The 25-year-old also featured for the national team in their 6-0 win over Lithuania recently.

The midfielder was speaking about his future and claimed he has dreams to fulfil but won’t force a move away (h/t Daily Mail):

“I’m well, doing my job and doing the best I can. I have dreams to fulfil but I have no need to force my departure.

“I feel the love here and if I have to leave, I hope I leave good memories.”

Fernandes also claimed that he wasn’t worried about the transfer rumours, and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move later on.

Spurs to move in the winter window?

Fernandes was excellent in the previous campaign too as he racked up 20 goals and 13 assists in the league alone.

Tottenham made some big moves in the summer and have seen Tanguy Ndombele do well since joining.

Giovani Lo Celso, another midfielder who joined in the summer, has also started our last two games.

It will be interesting to see if we make a move for Fernandes in the winter window.

Christian Eriksen is a free agent at the end of the season and hasn’t been at his best either. We could do with more goals from the midfield, and Fernandes has a record of scoring regularly from that position.

West Brom could sell Tottenham target Nathan Ferguson in January

West Brom fear they could lose Nathan Ferguson in the summer for nothing and could sell him in January, according to the Daily Mail.

The report adds that Crystal Palace are also keen on the U20 full-back and both London clubs want him in January.

However, the Championship side want to tie down their rising star to a new five-year deal (h/t Daily Mail).

However, they fear that Ferguson could even let his deal run down and move abroad in the summer (h/t Daily Mail).

Tottenham want to solve a problem area

Tottenham have had issues with their right-back slot in recent years.

Kieran Trippier was sold in the summer to Atletico Madrid while Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters have struggled to stay fit at the club.

Aurier has also struggled for form and the report claims that Tottenham see Ferguson as a long-term solution to this position.

It will be interesting to see if we move for the youngster in the winter window. Spurs could wait till the end of the campaign and land him for a compensation fee decided by a tribunal too.

Spurs have tried Moussa Sissoko and Juan Foyth in that position too in recent months.

Juventus sporting director in London to discuss Mario Mandzukic transfer

The 33-year-old Croatian forward hasn’t played for Juventus this season and was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer (h/t Calciomercato).

However, the Red Devils are willing to offer €10million while Juventus want €15m for the forward (h/t Calciomercato).

This could open the door for Tottenham to enter the fray as Paratici is also trying to find other buyers, according to the report.

Tottenham are interested in the former Atletico Madrid star and could move for him in the January window (h/t Calciomercato).

West Ham are also keen on the striker (h/t Calciomercato) and it will be interesting to see where Mandzukic lands in January.

A handful in the box

Mandzukic doesn’t have a great scoring record for Juventus, but he provides a lot of quality in the air.

The Croatian is great at winning headers and could provide Spurs with a different option in the attack.

Tottenham don’t have recognised cover for Harry Kane after allowing Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen to leave in the summer.

Mandzukic scored nine Serie A goals from 25 appearances in the previous season and provided six assists too.

His previous campaign wasn’t that great with just five goals and three assists in the league.

Mauricio Pochettino upset at failure to sign Philippe Coutinho in summer

Mauricio Pochettino is unhappy after missing out on Philippe Coutinho in the summer, reports The Sun.

The former Liverpool star was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich in the summer but has only scored twice so far this season.

Coutinho played under Pochettino during their spell at Espanyol, and the Brazilian did a decent job on loan at the La Liga club.

The Sun adds that Pochettino has complained about a lack of funds to rebuild his Spurs team.

Tottenham reached the Champions League final in the previous campaign, but have struggled for positive results this season.

We lie 14th in the Premier League and are 11 points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

Tottenham struggling throughout the campaign

The Premier League has been tough on us but things haven’t been better in other competitions too.

We were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United and lost 7-2 to Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League.

Coutinho’s time in the Bundesliga hasn’t gone extremely well, and it would have been interesting to see him at Tottenham.

The Brazilian was great during his Liverpool spell, and Pochettino could have extracted the best out of the midfielder at Spurs.

Christian Eriksen is one of the players who has struggled for goals this season too. The Dane only has two to his name and was on the bench in the 1-1 draw against Sheffield.

Coutinho is going through a similar patch too, and has come off the bench in his last two appearances for Bayern.
